Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (April 27, 2011)—Jeff Courtney is returning to the Sports Car Wars in the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge 2011 Season in Round 4 at the Grand Prix of Utah at Miller Motorsports Park April 29th – May 1. This will be Courtney’s first race in the World Challenge Series for 2011 and he will be racing his #99 JCR Motorsports/KENDA/Dodge Viper ACR-X.
This will be the first time that anyone has campaigned the ACR-X in a World Challenge GT event. “We chose Miller Motorsports Park to see if the ACR-X will be competitive with the GT field. If there is anywhere that the ACR-X can be competitive it would be, in my opinion, at Miller.”
Miller Motorsports Park in Utah is known for its long straightaways and high-speed sweeping turns, which has shown success in the past for the Dodge Viper, as seen by Courtney’s 2008 fastest race lap and in 2010 Courtney’s strong 4th place finish in a highly competitive field.
“It is a fast track, one that has been good to both the Viper and me in the past,” said Courtney.
For racing fans and Dodge enthusiasts, it’ll be fun to watch the Viper uncoil on the Miller’s track. If the ACR-X is as competitive as is hoped to be, perhaps we’ll see more of Courtney and the #99 JCR Motorsports/KENDA/Dodge Viper ACR-X in the balance of the World Challenge season?
“I love World Challenge and I’d love to be back racing in the series,” said Courtney. “We’ll just have to see if we can be competitive.”
Drivers will get the green light for their standing start on May 1, at 3:35 CST. Catch the moment-by-moment racing action at www.world-challenge.com.
