Friday in California Followed by Back to Back Races Wisconsin.
MILWAUKEE, WI (May 4, 2012) – Jeff Courtney and the JCR/TruSpeed team head to Laguna Seca in Monterey, California to begin a week that includes 5-track days, qualifying and three races, in two different states. “The sleep meter will be low but the fun meter will be pegged! I’m not sure how many miles will be logged between travel and track time but it will be plenty!” said Courtney during the pre-race interview.
Laguna Seca is a favorite for Courtney where he’ll be racing Round Five of the World Challenge Monterey Grand Prix. From California, Courtney heads back to Wisconsin for back-to-back races in the SRT Viper Cup Series at Road America. “If everything comes off without a hitch it should be an awesome week of great racing at great tracks! I am very excited!”
“Coming off my disappointing end to the race at Long Beach, I’m working with the TruSpeed team to dial in the #99 Kenda Tires/RecStuff.com Porsche for Laguna”, said Courtney. When asked about the state of the car and team, Courtney said, “We’re adding little pieces to the puzzle at every event and I’m confident as we head into the second half of the season. I haven’t had the best of luck at Laguna Seca due to a lot of odd mechanical mishaps over the years, but I have been fast there! We just need our luck to change and I think we will be in good shape! Chris and the boys over at TruSpeed have been working hard to get us prepped for this event and I am really looking forward to the race.”
At Road America, Courtney will be driving Ben Keating’s back-up car for Rounds Three and Four of the SRT Viper Cup. “I appreciate Ben giving me this opportunity as Road America is an awesome track and close to home. I’m excited to be part of the ViperExchange.com team for the weekend, and even though I’ll miss the Friday test day, I’m confident Ben and his team will have the car set-up and ready to go! These guys really know what they’re doing when it comes to Vipers and racing Vipers alike. I know this first hand because I lost last year’s Viper Cup Championship to Ben and his team by a very close 20 points! I’m looking forward to getting back in a Viper and a Viper Cup Event, it’s a great series and a great group of people.”
