COURTNEY WRAPS UP WORLD-CHALLENGE SEASON WITH TOP 10 FINISH

Moves Up Five Spots in Sonoma Battle

MILWAUKEE, WI (August 30, 2012)—Jeff Courtney finished 9th in the final race of the 2012 World-Challenge Series in Sonoma after qualifying 14th in his #99 Kenda Tires/RecStuff.com Porsche.

“I had an awesome launch from the standing start,” said Courtney, “I was able to really gain some momentum climbing to the eighth position in the first lap.”

Unfortunately the race went full course caution following the first lap.

“It was frustrating after such a great start to go into caution so quick, killing our momentum,” said Courtney.

On the restart David Welch in the #77 GoPro Ferrari had an impressive run up the inside. In trying to hold the position, Courtney got pushed wide losing most of the spots gained in lap one.MO2

“I tried hard to hold my line into turn two but found myself in the marbles setting us back with ground to make up,” says Courtney, “It certainly affected the tires but we were still able to fight back, finishing 9th. It was great to have all four TruSpeed Porsches in the top 10.”

“While we may have struggled with some of the handling this year, I am really excited about some of the car developments the TruSpeed guys were able to figure out this weekend,” says Courtney, “We’re going to try to nail it down this fall so we are ready for the 2013 season.”

The #99 Kenda Tires/RecStuff.com Porsche donned the Kenda Tires 50th Anniversary logo in the finale at Infineon. “Hopefully we added some great exposure for Kenda’s anniversary celebration coming up. They’ve been a great sponsor to work with and I look forward to many years of growing the relationship with them.” said Courtney.

“I want to give a thank you to my team sponsors: Kenda Tires, RecStuff, TJM Integrated Wealth Management, Coins of America and JG Wheels. We’ve built some great relationships this year and it was great working with everybody at TruSpeed…I’ve felt like a welcomed part of their paddock this year.” said Courtney.

The race at the Infineon Raceway will be broadcast by NBC Sports, Sunday, September 9th at 3:30-5PM eastern. Note, time and date subject to change. View live streaming on www.world-challengeTV.com day of races and continuously on demand after races.
