Long Beach, Calif – JCR Motorsports saw the Long Beach circuit as a chance to make up for the rough start last month at the Streets of St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, Courtney experienced engine issues early on during the first GT practice. The Kenda/RecStuff.com Audi R8 LMS was not able to participate in qualifying for the race.
“I feel bad for everyone involved because our team and sponsors worked very hard to make this program come together,” stated Courtney. “We have run into every possible bad luck situation that could happen and everything has been out of our control.”
Since the beginning of the season, the team has worked incredibly hard to prepare the Kenda/RecStuff.com Audi R8 LMS, swapping a transmission in St. Pete and now a motor. Courtney remains optimistic about the work of the JCR crew members and engineers. “I know we have the right ingredients here! It is just a shame we have not been able to prove it as of yet, but we will,” said Courtney.
“We did get a replacement motor from Audi Sport Customer Racing that the crew installed at Long Beach and our intention is to head down to Austin to test in two weeks. We really need this testing time to get our program back on track,” said Courtney.
