Drivers Jeff Courtney and Mitch Landry experienced two interesting races at Barber Motorsports Park last weekend

Milwaukee, WI – May 1, 2015 – JCR Motorsports drivers Jeff Courtney and Mitch Landry experienced two interesting races at Barber Motorsports Park last weekend April 24-26, 2015.

Jeff Courtney, of Milwaukee, WI, started off the weekend with strong performances in his No. 99 Kenda Tire/RecStuff.com Audi R8 Ultra during Friday’s practice session and was feeling optimistic about the setup leading into qualifying. Saturday’s rain brought unsuspected challenges as the track was very wet for qualifying.

Courtney’s problems continued in Round 6, culminating in a late-race spin. Courtney finished the race in 13th position. Courtney was able to run a clean race in Round 7, capturing an 8th place finish. Courtney was the highest finishing GT-A Audi.

“We experienced some challenges this weekend,” said Courtney. “My guys are doing a great job giving me a well-handling Audi and I feel I am doing my job as a driver. The biggest struggle at the moment is the Balance of Performance which unfortunately we cannot do anything about. I am happy we had two clean races, for the most part, and I am looking forward to Mosport.”

Mitch Landry, of Lake Charles, LA, qualified his No. 97 Deep South/VersaCrane Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the eighth position on the GT Cup grid for Round 6. Landry had a great rolling start and was battling his way through the field when called in for a drive-through penalty for contact with a competitor. Landry ultimately took the checkered flag right where he started in the eighth position.

Landry’s fast race lap placed him in the seventh position on the GTA grid for Round 7. Again, Landry was battling for position when contact with a GT car in Turn 7 caused him to spin. Landry was able to recoup once more and took the checkered in sixth place.

“In spite of the problems I feel that we were faster overall and made progress in learning the car. I am looking forward to Mosport” said Landry.

Rounds 6 and 7 of the Pirelli World Challenge can be viewed this Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 PM EST on CBS Sports Network.

Next Stop for JCR Motorsports is Canadian Tire Motorsports Park on May 15-17, 2015.
