Milwaukee, WI – August 19 , 2015 – Jeff Courtney will return to Maserati Trofeo World Series Series competition for double-header this weekend at Virginia International Raceway. Courtney made his Trofeo debut at Road America in June where he proved to be very competitive, capturing a third place and fifth place finish.
Courtney will be again driving the Series Official Shell/Pennzoil Sponsored Car, along with the support of Kenda Tires and RecStuff.com. In addition, Courtney’s hot rod will also feature Foreign Cars Italia from both Charlotte and Greensboro, North Carolina to this event. “We are excited to have Foreign Cars Italia on board this weekend and look forward to hanging out with Bob Pletcher and his VIP guests!” said Courtney.
The Maserati Trofeo World Series runs a three-event, five-race schedule in the US where the North American Champion earns a chance to compete in the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Currently second in points, Courtney will be making a hard charge for the podium this weekend as his sights are set on claiming the championship lead and being a contender for the opportunity to race abroad.
“After running with the series at Road America I was quickly impressed with the program and the high level of competition,” said Courtney. “We’re working hard to finalize our program so we can have a strong shot at claiming the title. Courtney’s weekend begins with three practice sessions on Thursday, August 20th to nail the setup and prepare for qualifying at 10:40 AM Friday, August 21. Race 1 goes green at 6:50 PM on Friday. The weekend concludes with Race 2 which begins at 5:35 PM on Saturday, August 22.

The series is comprised of six events all around the world, including the Paul Ricard in France, the Red Bull ring in Austria, Road America and VIR in USA, Suzuka in Japan and the AbuDhabi in the Emirates.
