JCR Motorsports Heads to Alabama with Two-Car GTS Effort

Milwaukee, WI – April 21, 2016 – JCR Motorsports will field two Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 entries at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park April 22-24, 2016. Jeff Courtney will be joined by Alabama local Clint Guthrie for GTS Rounds 5 and 6.

Jeff Courtney, of Milwaukee, WI, has showed strong pace early in the season despite having little time to focus on car development. Courtney has a history of top five finishes at Barber Motorsports Park and hopes continue his streak.

“I am looking forward to getting back on track at Barber,” said Courtney. “We are making progress on the development of the Maserati GranTurismo MC GT4 and I am beginning to get a better feel for the car. I can promise that myself and the JCR Motorsports team will go out and give our best effort possible for our sponsors Kenda Tire and RecStuff.com. We’re very excited to welcome Clint Guthrie and his charity Racing for Children’s to the team this weekend. It’s a great cause and we are honored to be part of it.”

Clint Guthrie, of Birmingham, AL, will be joining the JCR Motorsports team in the No. 66 JCR Motorsports Racing for Children’s Maserati. Guthrie is no stranger of the Pirelli World Challenge and has competed for the past two years in the GTS class at Barber Motorsports Park.

Guthrie will be sponsored by the Medical Properties Trust and representing Children’s of Alabama, the 10th busiest pediatric medical center in the United States. Children’s of Alabama treats children from all fifty states and treats over 90% of Alabama children who have been diagnosed with blood disorders or cancer.

The No. 66 Maserati livery is composed of handprints from children being treated at Children’s of Alabama.

“We are looking forward to this weekend and running with Jeff and the JCR Motorsports crew.  The Maserati looks amazing and the kids absolutely love it. This is our 6th year of fundraising for childhood cancer research at Children’s of Alabama and we have raised over $915 thousand to date, not including this year.  Last year, we raised over $250 thousand from the race weekend event and our annual dinner on Friday night at the Barber Motorsports Event. Thanks to our sponsor, Medical Properties Trust, 100 percent of funds raised are donated to Children’s for much needed childhood cancer research.”

Tickets are available for Friday night’s annual dinner at racingforchildrens.org.
